Thus, as a Fiercely Independent organization we can pursue the best interests of our clients.

WE TAKE OUR FIDUCIARY RESPONSIBILITY SERIOUSLY

At Old Security Group we hold a Fiduciary responsibility to our clients. Fiduciary responsibility is a legal duty of care, loyalty, honesty, and good faith. As SEC Commissioner Luis Aguilar described in a speech to the Investment Advisers Association Annual Conference on May 7, 2009,

“… A fiduciary has an affirmative obligation to put a client’s interests above his or her own. As a result, a fiduciary acts in the best interests of the client, even if it means putting a client’s interest above his own. …A fiduciary standard…is an affirmative obligation of loyalty and care that continues through the life of the relationship between the adviser and the client, and it controls all aspects of their relationship. It is not a check-the-box standard that only periodically applies.”

To a far greater extent than in most businesses, Old Security Group is legally bound to put the interests of clients ahead of their own. These are fundamental protections — similar to those that apply to doctors, lawyers, and CPAs — that validate the expectation of trust we bestow on financial professionals. They are true legal obligations, not mere ethical standards or industry guidelines. Violations can mean the end of a career and other penalties.

This allows us to act as a facilitator and help guide our clients through simple and complex legal and financial strategies. These professionals include local and national CPA’s and Accounting firms, Advanced Corporate Tax Consulting firms, Business and Individual Legal Counsel, Home Mortgage origination and refinance, Institutional Money Management and Independent research firms. Through these Strategic Alliances, we are able to empower our clients to have all aspects of their finances work together for their benefit. Old Security Group does not offer tax planning or legal services, but will provide references to accounting, tax services or legal providers. They will also work with your attorney or independent tax or legal advisor.

Matt Hausman

Matt Hausman is the founder of Old Security Trust Corp. and Old Security Group, a Registered Investment Advisory Firm. Matt began helping small business owners and individuals in the early 1990s with insurance and investment planning. Due to the confines of working for large institutions, Matt founded Old Security Group, an Independent Registered Investment Advisory Firm to legally and ethically act in a fiduciary capacity providing unbiased advice to both small business owners and individuals. Matt specializes in helping clients recognize where they are unknowingly and unnecessarily transferring away their wealth. His experience has been in Lending, Cash Flow Management, Investments, Insurance and Real Estate. This experience allows Matt to provide holistic advice to his clients. Matt has been asked to speak to various groups on topics ranging from Advanced Business Strategies to individual retirement and asset protection strategies. Matt holds a SEC Series 65 License and Life, Health and Title licenses in multiple states. He is also a member in good standing with the National Ethics Association.
